Mueller Cares

At Mueller, we believe in supporting and giving back to organizations in the communities we live and work in.

Our contributions are not just through individual and corporate donations, but by volunteering time, Board involvement, and Board leadership. From building a home for a deserving and needy family through Habitat for Humanity, to raising money by participating in 5ks, to volunteering at a food pantry; Mueller employees know they are contributing where it is needed most.

While we support a number of charitable endeavors, we have established a Philanthropy Team that reaches out to our employees on an ongoing basis to help choose the organizations where they feel we can make a difference. We call this our Charities of Choice  and employee activities from volunteering to fundraising are focused on helping these organizations reach their goals.

Mueller Employees' Charities of Choice

Feed My Starving Children is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development. Mueller partnered with another local company to support FMSC. Mueller specifically has hosted several in-office fundraisers, a virtual trivia event, and participated in Make a Difference DKC Mobile Pack. Over two years, the companies have raised over $59,000 and have contributed volunteer labor to assist FMSC in packing 2,036,448 meals.

Make a Wish® Illinois grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. We have supported their annual 5K Run for Wishes but wanted to deepen our level of involvement and giving. Partnering with two long term clients, we looked for a fundraising vehicle that would engage employees from all three companies to benefit a deserving charity, give back to our local community, and provide a fun and enjoyable event for all the participants and supporters. The result was a friendly bowling and fundraising event called Bowling for Wishes. This event has raised over $288,000 the past three years fulfilling the wishes of 48 deserving children.

Recognizing that food insecurity was a problem in the Greater Elgin area, Food For Greater Elgin was created to provide a client-choice food distribution facility. Food For Greater Elgin is providing food assistance to 1,250 families, feeding 6,000 individuals in those households, of whom nearly half are children. Mueller employees volunteer their time monthly at the food pantry; collect gracious donations, and further support annual fund raising events such as Palette to Palate.

Gigi’s Playhouse changes lives through consistent delivery of free educational, therapeutic-based and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community, through a replicable playhouse model. By supporting this organization, Mueller is helping Gigi’s Playhouse change the way the world views Down syndrome, sending a global message of acceptance to all.

Together We Cope is a homeless prevention agency who serves communities in four townships in Chicago’s south suburbs. They bridge the gap in temporary crisis by providing food, shelter, clothing and referrals, to help people in the community return to self-sufficiency. By financially supporting this organization through in-office fundraisers, Mueller is helping our neighbors stay in their homes, making the community stronger for everyone.

PAWS Chicago  is dedicated to building no kill communities, ending the over population of homeless animals, and transforming animal welfare. Mueller financially supports this organization through various in-office fundraisers and participates in their annual 5K event.

American Lung Association  works to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education and advocacy. Their work is focused on four strategic imperatives: to defeat lung cancer; to improve the air we breathe; to reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families; and to eliminate tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases. Throughout various in-office fundraisers and participating in the Fight for Air Climb Event, Mueller is helping to led the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air.
